Read on for 5 more of the Georgian Bay’s favourite processors, restaurants, parlours and more…. and don’t forget to stay tuned for the local itineraries to come.
7280 County Road 9, Creemore
Located just outside Creemore, Miller’s Dairy is home to an 800-acre farm crop and a 260 cow 100% purebred Jersey Jalon herd. With quality and sustainability at the forefront of their operations, the Millers can trace the heritage of their herd back to their beginnings in 1959, grow the majority of the cows feed on their own land, produce their milk in only reusable glass bottles and favour local grocers for their products retail. Find their milks from skim to whole, creams, and seasonal flavours, as well as their fresh jersey cream ice cream in various local grocers, markets, and shops in the Georgian Bay and surrounding area.
808108 Side Road 24, Clarksburg
As local producers of handmade ciders and spirits, the Spy Cider House & Distillery is also home to one of the area’s most beautiful patios – overlooking the orchards and all. With woodfired pizzas and charcuterie boards featuring Ontario’s finest cheeses, their menu offers the perfect pairings for their delicious beverages.
10 Third Street, Collingwood
Founder, Caesar ‘Nicky’ Guinto, has taken his childhood sweet tooth and made it into his dream business! With doughnuts made from scratch daily, Nicky’s also produces their own house made ice creams using only the best ingredients including fresh milk from Sheldon Creek Dairy, and local seasonal additions for their delicious flavours. Open Wednesday through Sunday, you can find ice cream by the scoop or pint!
141 King Street E, Thornbury
This Georgian Bay 1970’s themes boutique motel is equipped with not only some of the best outdoor relaxation, but a locally renowned onsite restaurant. Après welcomes all for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and even oyster & libation sessions. With a menu full of delicious, locally inspired fare, by far the most subjectively delicious is their Ontario burrata salad, also featuring fresh spicy greens, compressed watermelon, and pickled mustard seeds.
11 Bruce Street S, Thornbury
Last but certainly not least is The Cheese Gallery’s very own little cheese-filled corner of Thornbury. With at least 10 Ontario cheeses rotating on a daily/weekly basis, their store also features the accoutrements for your next board, Ontario dairy filled sandwiches and lattes to snack on, and more!
