2792 Princess Street, Kingston
Otter Creek Farms is known for their organic Angus and Wagyu beef. A longstanding farm-to-table food truck in Kingston, Otter Creek has officially opened a kitchen in the west end of the city, serving their burgers from Wednesday to Sunday every week. Their OC Wagyu burger is excellent, but regardless of which burger you get, make sure to top it with local Wilton cheddar. The Lil’ Otter is a good choice if you’re craving a smaller burger, and be on the lookout for their rotating special burger.
3127 Sydenham Rd, Elginburg
Three generations of farmers come together to provide the Kingston region with delicious, organic dairy. You can order items to be delivered at a regular frequency, or you can stop by their farm store in Elginburg where they offer local whole foods. The highlight of a visit here is their phenomenal, silky smooth ice cream, which is what brings those from near and far. Be sure to check out the bouncy barn just outside the farm shop after they’ve enjoyed their ice cream.
2454 Perth Rd, Glenburnie
Glenburnie Grocery is a family-run grocery store that’s been providing customers with quality products and fresh local produce since 1967. If you wander into the Butcher Shop area of the store, you’ll find an aisle featuring many local Ontario cheeses from favourites including Wilton Cheese Factory and Black River Cheeses, among others. Be sure to check out their website for promotions that they regularly offer.
320A King St E, Kingston
The new kid on the block in Downtown Kingston, Churn started operations in the summer of 2022 and is gaining momentum as a must-try ice cream shop in Kingston. Due to the small batch nature of this spot, there are always new flavours popping up for you to try. After picking your flavours, you have a wide variety of toppings to finish off your sweet treat. Regardless of what you decide to get, make sure it’s a double scoop and be sure to get it in a waffle cone. You can enjoy your ice cream right outside the shop in beautiful Market Square!
260 Princess St, Kingston
Since 2017, The Grocery Basket has established itself as one of the city’s best one-stop shops for all things grocery, right in the heart of Downtown Kingston. They source their items from a large roster of local Ontario and Kingston cheesemakers. On top of the grocery store, there is a café, serving up delicious items either ready-to-eat, or available for pre-order. The Northern Canadian breakfast sandwich, which has bacon, egg, and cheddar in an English muffin, is a must-try. If you’re pre-ordering, then their charcuterie boards are the way to go. They also operate a food truck that will sometimes be in City Park!
