Step 1
Pre-heat the oven to 400°F.

In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper together.

Add the grated cheese and bacon crumble and toss until evenly distributed.

In another bowl, mix the egg and cream together. Add this to the flour mixture and mix until the liquid is absorbed and the dough comes together.
Step 5
Turn the dough out onto a counter and knead about 10 times, roll out (or use your fingers and pat) the dough into a rectangle shape roughly 1 inch thick. Using a knife, cut the dough into half lengthwise and into thirds widthwise. Cut each rectangle diagonally for a total of 12 scones.
Step 6
Transfer the scones to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush the tops with cream and bake for 16 - 20 minutes until golden.
