A great immune booster and loaded with probiotics, this Blueberry Kefir Smoothie made with local, Ontario Kefir makes for a perfect summertime treat! Kefir is a fermented milk drink similar to a thin yogurt that’s made from kefir grains, a specific type of mesophilic symbiotic culture. Aside from its health benefits, it’s also incredibly versatile in the kitchen, it can be used as a soup base, buttermilk substitute, and can even be used to make sourdough bread! This recipe is quick and easy to make, and acts as a great base recipe if you’re trying to unload some fruits and veggies from your fridge and/or freezer.
