Local chefs across the province created exceptional take-out menu items to enjoy with paired VQA Ontario wines, showcasing the abundance of locally grown, raised and produced foods from Ontario – from exquisite cheeses and fresh milk to brilliant wines.
Located in beautiful Prince Edward County, the Waring House is a country inn that features two restaurants, with the Barley Room currently open for take out.
Chef Travis Mindle is a native of Prince Edward County and grew up and attended school with members of the local farming community. With a genuine farm-to-table philosophy, Chef Mindle developed his skills from that age of 14 and has worked to hone his skills by developing not just menus, but his team of more than 20 employees. While sourcing locally-produced food is a priority, the Waring House is proud to have its own kitchen garden, lovingly designed and tended. Their garden and the surrounding family farms help ensure that during the growing season, the produce on their plates was grown close to home - with some harvested that morning for evening enjoyment.
Waring House created two exceptional Milk & Honey menu items available for take-out for a limited time only:
- Parisienne Gnocchi with Ontario Cheddar, fresh herbs, grilled mushrooms and onion in a VQA Ontario Chardonnay cream sauce (pictured)
- Prince Edward County Maple Mousse made with local cream and topped with candied Ontario pecans.
This limited time only take out menu is supported by a complete Milk & Honey digital recipe collection, featuring all of the recipes on the Milk & Honey menus across Ontario. This recipe collection will be sent via email on May 28 to all Savour Ontario newsletter subscribers.
